KD on joining Warriors: 'I would do that s--t a million times' originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Every fanbase hopes to find that one superstar who will wear their colors from Day 1 to the time they hang their sneakers up. After being drafted with the No. 2 pick by the Seattle SuperSonics and continuing on for the next nine years as the franchise became the Oklahomna City Thunder, OKC fans thought they had just that in Kevin Durant.
In his first decade as a NBA player, Durant racked up awards for his trophy case. He already was named Rookie of the Year, was a seven-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA selection, All-Star Game MVP, NBA MVP and already went to the NBA Finals.

Still, he was ready for the next step and his next home.
As we know, Durant decided to sign with the Warriors in the 2016 offseason, after losing to that same Golden State squad in the Western Conference finals. It was a cardinal sin in the eyes of Thunder fans, and still the perfect decision to KD.
"It was a basketball decision, but knocked down the not giving a f--k ladder with that too," Durant said to his former Warriors teammate Draymond Green on Bleacher Report's "Chips." "It kind of knocked down two birds with one stone with that. But it was mainly I felt like I was the absolute perfect fit with what you guys were doing on both ends of the ball. And I knew my game had reached a point where I needed to really see what that looked like. I thought that was just a no-brainer."
Does Durant regret his decision at all? Here's the simple answer: No.
"I would do that s--t a million times," he said. "And, you know, again -- I didn't second-guess at all."
Durant told Green he knew he wanted to join the Warriors while taking free-agency meetings with other teams, but had to go through the process and get confirmation. Once he met with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala and Green -- forming the Hamptons Five -- along with the Warriors' brass, he called it "perfect."

And who can blame him? Durant did take his game to new heights with the Warriors, he went to three straight NBA Finals, won two rings and would have won three if it weren't for injuries and he outplayed LeBron James to win back-to-back Finals MVP. Yeah, that's a pretty damn successful three-year run.
Durant's time with the Warriors will never be forgotten, his decision always will be debated, but it's time to put it to rest. He wouldn't change a thing when it comes to the fireworks he sparked forever on that Fourth of July in 2016.
