Jamal Agnew returns missed Cardinals field goal 109 yards for TD originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Arizona Cardinals tried to make history late in the first half of their 31-19 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday with a 68-yard field goal attempt by Matt Prater. Instead, Jamal Agnew caught the missed attempt and returned it a record-tying 109 yards the other way for a Jacksonville touchdown.

With the game tied at seven and just two seconds remaining in the half, Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury trotted out his kicker.

Prater, 37, held the NFL record for the longest field goal make at 64 yards when he attempted the 68-yarder (his record was broken later in the day by Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens). He didn't have enough leg to convert it, though, and Agnew capitalized with no time on the clock. Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo missed the extra point after Agnew's touchdown, so the Jaguars led 13-7 at halftime.

This marks the second straight week where Agnew scored a special teams touchdown. He returned a kickoff 102 yards in Jacksonville's Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos.

In addition to Agnew’s 109-yard score, here were some of the other best highlights from Sunday’s Week 3 action:

Justin Tucker makes history in walk-off fashion

Justin Tucker didn't just attempt a record-breaking field goal on Sunday -- he made it.

Tucker's boot from 66 yards as time expired gave the Ravens a 19-17 victory over the Lions in Detroit. The kick didn't go in cleanly, hitting the crossbar and bouncing up and through the posts.

Tucker almost didn’t get a chance to make history, as just a few plays earlier the Ravens were faced with a fourth-and-19 from their own 16. But Lamar Jackson was able to find Sammy Watkins for a 36-yard gain to keep Baltimore alive.

Justin Herbert hits Mike Williams for game-winner

The Los Angeles Chargers pulled off a huge victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead thanks to a late touchdown. After Patrick Mahomes threw his second interception of the game (we'll get to his first one in a bit), Justin Herbert connected with Mike Williams for a game-winning four-yard touchdown in the final minute.

The game-winner capped another big day for Williams, who tallied seven catches for 122 yards and two scores.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs dropped below .500 for the first time since 2015 with the 30-24 loss.

Dustin Hopkins recovers his own kickoff

Washington Football Team kicker Dustin Hopkins pulled off the seemingly impossible against the Buffalo Bills.

With some help from the wind and a couple fortunate bounces, Hopkins recovered his own kickoff on the Bills’ 24-yard line.

How about that hustle from the 30-year-old kicker? Washington took advantage of Hopkins’ recovery too, scoring a few plays later on a Taylor Heinicke run to make it a 21-14 game. That’s as close as they would get though, losing 43-21.

Jacoby Brissett forces OT in Las Vegas

Filling in for the injured Tua Tagovailoa, veteran Jacoby Brissett engineered a game-tying drive for the Miami Dolphins to force overtime against the Las Vegas Raiders. Down to their final play with eight seconds left, Brissett scrambled for a one-yard touchdown.

The Dolphins still needed a two-point conversion to send the game to OT, and they got it on a Brissett-Will Fuller connection.

In overtime, the two teams traded field goals before Daniel Carlson drilled the game-winner from 22 yards out.

Brissett, who was making his first start since 2019, went 32 of 49 through the air for 215 yards, along with 37 rushing yards and a touchdown, in the 31-28 loss.

Jameis Winston throws it up, Marquez Callaway goes and gets it

Jameis Winson throwing the ball while being pulled to the ground by a defender sounds like a recipe for disaster, but it resulted in a touchdown on Sunday.

As he was being tackled in the backfield by New England Patriots safety Kyle Dugger, Winston lofted a pass toward the back of the end zone and wideout Marquez Callaway snared it out of the air for his first career touchdown.

That was one of two TDs thrown by Winston as the Saints rebounded from a rough Week 2 showing to beat the Pats 28-13.

Asante Samuel Jr. picks off Patrick Mahomes’ no-look pass

Patrick Mahomes is king of the no-look pass, but he’ll likely want this one back.

A wide-open Marcus Kemp failed to reel in a pass from Mahomes and the ball subsequently popped up in the air, allowing rookie cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. to swoop in for an impressive diving interception.

And upon further review, Mahomes wasn’t looking Kemp when he threw it.

Should Kemp have caught it? Probably. But Mahomes probably also could have delivered a better pass if he was looking right at the target. Regardless, Samuel Jr. still had to make quite the play to haul in his second career interception.

Derrick Henry bulldozes over Darius Leonard

Tackling Derrick Henry isn't easy, even for a two-time All-Pro defender.

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard went to tackle Henry on a screen pass and ended up on the wrong side of a viral moment.

Sheesh.

Henry totaled 144 yards from scrimmage in the Tennessee Titans' 25-16 win over their division rival.
