General manager John Lynch has important check list this offseason, hoping to mark off each box. Keeping Trent Williams in Santa Clara is a must. And Pro Football Focus believes that's exactly what will happen.
The advanced analytics site predicts Williams, 32, will re-sign with the 49ers on a four-year, $80 million contract. Their prediction has Williams' deal being worth $62.5 million guaranteed and $45 million fully guaranteed at the signing.
On the third and final day of the 2020 NFL Draft, the 49ers acquired the star left tackle from Washington for a fifth-round pick in the 2020 draft and third-round pick in the 2021 draft. Williams was everything the 49ers could have hoped for in his first year with the team. After missing all of last season, Williams played 14 games with the 49ers and made his eighth straight Pro Bowl.

Williams was the highest-graded (91.9) offensive tackle in the NFL by PFF. It was the third time he finished the regular season as PFF's highest-graded offensive tackle.
The 49ers reportedly talked with Williams about a contract extension during Week 17 of the regular season, but the two sides couldn't come to an agreement. Now, Lynch and the rest of the 49ers' front office must make sure they can get Williams' John Hancock and put pen to paper.
