The 2016 Olympic Games kick off on Saturday, with more than 11,000 athletes heading to Brazil for the competitions. Even if you can’t fly to Rio to catch the action live, there are plenty of viewing parties in the area where you can watch the game.

The Hillside Sports Ministry will be screening the men’s beach volleyball tournament and providing snacks and drinks for viewers. The event is asking people to bring their own lawn chairs on bean bags to sit on.
South Bay

Catch the opening ceremony at this sports bar, which will be projecting the games on its 15-inch video wall.

The park will have 10 food trucks lined up as well as $3 sangrias and draft beers during happy hour to keep you full as you watch the opening parades and speeches.

This bar and lounge is hosting a viewing party of the opening ceremony as well as celebrating the beer Olympics with discounted drinks. If you come before 9 p.m., you can get five cups of beer or wine for $10. Almost 200 people have RSVP’d on the Facebook event, and they encourage attendees to wear jerseys and unitards.
