As the Olympics is underway in Sochi, San Jose's figure skater Polina Edmunds is 1,600 miles away from Winter Games headquarters, eating a bit of ice cream and playing tourist before she takes to the ice next week.
On Friday, (PST) she tweeted out photos of her in Graz, Austria, where she has been training on a rink there before heading to Russia, the homeland of her mother, Nina Edmunds, who is also one of her skating coaches.
Last week, the 15-year-old Polina, a sophomore at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, was in Munich.
Not only is Polina training in Austria, but she's having a bit of fun, too.
Her tweets showed her eating a flower-like Austrian ice cream with hints of vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon.

And she's also doing a bit of touring - with fellow Olympic-bound skaters, Gracie Gold and Ashley Wagner.

The trio was at the Bridge of Locks earlier on Friday wishing everyone a happy Valentine's Day. Throughout the world and first started in Paris, padlocks affixed to bridges have cropped up as symbols of everlasting love.

Polina is scheduled to arrive in Sochi by Saturday and compete on Wednesday and Thursday.
