SAN FRANCISCO -- Is Tim Lincecum preparing to make a comeback? According to the Instagram page of another National League West pitcher, he might be.
Adam Ottavino of the Rockies posted a photo of Lincecum to his Instragram page on Monday night with the simple caption, "timmy." Lincecum appears to be in tremendous shape, is holding a baseball glove, and is working out at a facility somewhere.

Lincecum hasn't pitched in the majors since 2016, when he had a short stint with the Angels, posting a 9.16 ERA in nine starts. He wasn't heard from at all last season and didn't even try to make a team out of spring training, but there were occasional rumors that he wasn't done playing, and he never announced his retirement. Several Giants players and coaches kept in touch with Lincecum and said he had not indicated that his career was over. The Bay Area News Group sent a reporter to the Seattle area during the season but Lincecum could not be tracked down.
Lincecum spent nine seasons with the Giants and was one of the most popular players the franchise has ever had. He won two Cy Young Awards early in his career. Despite the time away, he is still just 33 years old.
