Do you have pets?
I have a dog named Sammy. She is a 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel who is always there to greet me and welcome me home. Everyone in town knows Sammy since she hangs out on the corner where many people walk by, and they all stop to see her.
Olympic crush?
No specific crushes, but Lolo [Jones] has been single for way too long....feel free to pass along my number...
If you were not an athlete, what would you like to be doing?
Working on Wall Street.
Can you tell us something quirky about yourself that people would be amused to learn?
Sports
As part of my training, I use gymnastics for general body awareness and elasticity. I practice doing front and back handsprings, as well as giants over the high bar.
What would people be surprised to learn about training for the Olympics?
They would be surprised to know how far a shot-put thrower WALKS a day retrieving their ball. On a typical training day, I walk 1.89 miles, and on a double session day, 3.78 miles, JUST RETRIEVING THE BALL. (I'm glad I don't throw the hammer or discus anymore!)
