Raiders-Broncos Injury Report: Maurice Hurst Questionable With Balky Ankle

Raiders defensive tackle Maurice Hurst hasn't practiced all week because of an ankle injury that has bothered him for a while now. It has limited his preparation and availability on game day, though he toughed it out and played last Sunday.

While the rookie was formally considered questionable Saturday on the team's official injury report, Raiders coach Jon Gruden said Hurst still is battling the ailment.

"His ankle," Gruden said, "is not getting much better."

Hurst still has a chance to play Monday night against the Denver Broncos. So do starting cornerbacks Daryl Worley (shoulder) and Gareon Conley (concussion), both of whom were deemed questionable. Conley was limited all week but remains in the concussion protocol. Worley missed practice Thursday and Friday but was limited Saturday.

Everyone else on the Raiders was made available to play in what could be the franchise's final game at Oakland Coliseum.

That includes left guard Kelechi Osemele (toe), who's set to return from a two-game absence. He was a full participant all week. His return would upgrade the left guard spot and help rookie left tackle Kolton Miller on the outside.

"It would be nice for him," Gruden said. "He has had a lot of different partners there this year, and Osemele is certainly a guy he is comfortable and experienced working with, so that will help."

While Hurst will be missed if he can't go, Gruden believes the Michigan product has made great strides during his rookie season.

"He's grown leaps and bounds," Gruden said. "We knew we drafted a good player when we took him, and he has not disappointed. He was a little dinged up last week coming off the last ballgame. He's done a good job in both the run and the pass. He's been able to push the pocket some on third down, so he's going to be a great player for us."
