Report: Former 49ers, Raiders D-lineman to Join Dolphins Coaching Staff

Andre Carter is reportedly headed to Florida.

The former 49ers defensive lineman is joining the Dolphins as an assistant defensive line coach, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.

The 49ers selected Carter with the seventh overall pick in the 2001 draft.

The Bay Area native played his first five seasons for San Francisco, recording 32 sacks and seven forced fumbles.

He played for Washington from 2006 to 2010, the Patriots in 2011, the Raiders in 2012 and the Patriots again in 2013.

This past season, Carter served as an intern with the 49ers as part of the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship program.
