Report: Kings Are Out on Restricted Free Agent Jabari Parker

The NBA free agent market is dwindling and the Sacramento Kings continue to stay clear of the action. Mario Hezonja agreed to join the Knicks on Sunday evening. Aaron Gordon returned to the Magic on a mega-deal. And now there are rumors that the Kings are out on restricted free agent, Jabari Parker, as well.

Coming into the free agency period, Sacramento showed interest in Parker, but not for the rumored price he was looking for. As a restricted free agent, the Bucks can match any offer for the 23-year-old combo forward. But after reportedly agreeing to a 3-year, $21 million deal with free agent Ersan Ilyasova, Milwaukee will likely have to go into the luxury tax to retain Parker.

Parker was always a long shot for the Kings. The former second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft is a major risk/reward player. An elite scorer when healthy, Parker tore the ACL in his left knee twice since arriving to the league out of Duke.

In 31 games with Milwaukee last season, Parker posted 12.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 24 minutes per game as he returned from injury.

Sacramento is one a small group of teams who still have available cap space as we enter the second full day of free agency.
