A few hours before the NHL holds the expansion draft to fill out Las Vegas' roster, it appears the Golden Knights have settled on which Sharks player they will take.
The Golden Knights will pick defenseman David Schlemko, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.
The 30-year-old Schlemko is signed to $2.1 million salary for the next three years, and is a third-pairing defenseman who can contribute at both ends of the ice.
In his only season with the Sharks, Schlemko played in 62 games. He scored two goals, dished out 16 assists, had a plus-four rating and 14 penalty minutes.
In picking Schlemko, Las Vegas passed on Brenden Dillon, Joel Ward, Mikkel Boedker and Paul Martin.
