Report: Warriors Tried to Hire Brent Barry Last Summer

Brent Barry has ties to the Bay Area.

And last summer, the Warriors tried to hire him in a scouting position, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

Brent -- who is the son of Warriors legend Rick Barry -- attended De La Salle High School in Concord.

Golden State and Barry were reportedly unable to strike a deal because of complications with Barry's TV responsibilities.

According to ESPN:

The two sides even discussed a potential part-time arrangement that would have allowed Barry to fulfill his TNT duties, with the understanding he would come to Golden State full time upon the expiration of his TV contract, but the talks fell through.

Brent entered the NBA as the 15th overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft.

He played for 14 seasons and won the Dunk Contest in 1996.
