The trade deadline is today at 1pm PT.
Over 104 games this season, McCutchen is hitting .258 with 10 home runs and 43 RBI.
The 31-year old will become an unrestricted free agent this winter.
The Yankees aren't the only team looking into McCutchen, as Jon Paul Morosi of MLB.com wrote:
McCutchen may be a stronger trade candidate than (Adam) Jones in the hours leading up to Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET non-waiver Trade Deadline. The Yankees, Phillies and Indians have varying levels of interest in acquiring the 31-year-old former National League Most Valuable Player Award winner, sources said on Monday.
Stay tuned as this story will surely develop over the next couple of hours...
