Residents, Businesses Near Levi's Stadium Bracing for Super Bowl ‘Chaos'

People living and working in the shadow of Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara are preparing for chaos come Super Bowl Sunday.

Staff members at Dona Maria Mexican Food on Tasman Drive said regular games at the stadium drive up business. The restaurant is expecting a big boost from the biggest game of the year.

"I think it's going to be really busy that day," said Marlem Hernandez with Dona Maria. "The whole week is going to be crazy."

The restaurant also is stocking up on drinks because it is unsure about the reliability of deliveries during Super Bowl week.

"That'll be our big thing," Hernandez said. "People want to pre-drink -- drinks in (the stadium) are expensive."

Businesses near Levi's Stadium are unsure about deliveries because part of Tasman Drive will be closed for more than a week starting Sunday.

The owner of Pho Khang said his customers drive and is worried the closure will steer business away. People who live nearby are also expecting heavy traffic.

Resident Mark Hoyt said he is planning to leave town for the big event.

"Go someplace else," Hoyt said of his plans. "Not as many people, not as much noise."

But not everyone can escape the crowds.

Romic Sevilla instead is planning ahead and plans to leave at least an hour in advance to get to his soccer game.

The Santa Clara Police Department has provided the following advisory regarding Super Bowl-related closures:
