Retired OL Davis Conducts Poll on 49ers Starting QB

Ex-49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis retired from the NFL, then unretired, then re-retired.

But all along the way the former first-round pick remained engaged in the team that drafted him.

During Thursday night's loss to the Cardinals, Davis issued a poll on social media asking users who should be the starting quarterback for the 49ers.

Davis followed up with two more related tweets; one citing his quarterback resume and another saying, "Trent, Call Me," which has since been deleted.

Current starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert in Week 5 finished 18 of 31 for 162 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

He was also sacked seven times for minus-27 yards.

The 49ers have now lost four games in a row since beating the Rams in Week 1. Gabbert had a 73.1 QB rating entering Thursday night's bout.
