San Francisco Giants Honor Robin Williams with Video Tribute, Moment of Silence

The San Francisco Giants honored Robin Williams with a video tribute and a moment of silence prior to the start of Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox.

Williams, a season-ticket holder, took it upon himself to motivate the Giants to greatness in 2010. He will always be remembered by Giants fans for his award-winning, championship-inspiring performance prior to the start of Game 1 of the 2010 National League Division Series.

"When he came out he screaming and shouting, he got the vibe going," Giants fan Ben Maeck said.

Tuesday's tribute was also on Jerry Garcia night at AT&T Park. Garcia was another beloved personality from Marin County.

"I think it's great for San Francisco to come together to celebrate two of its most cherished personalities tonight," said Trixie Garcia, Jerry Garcia's daughter. "We're honored to share the evening with Robin -- love him dearly. Thank you for enriching our lives."

Fans messages for Williams were also posted by the Giants on the stadium scoreboard.

"He brought a lot of laughter into all of our lives and brought laughter into lives that are sadder than his," Maeck said. "God bless him."
