San Francisco Giants' ace Madison Bumgarner is returning to the mound in the Bay Area Wednesday night, but he won't be at AT&T Park.
The star left-hander, who is still recovering from a late April dirt biking accident, will continue his rehabilitation assignment in an appearance on the hill with the San Jose Giants at Municipal Stadium Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Bumgarner is also scheduled to suit up for the San Jose Giants on Monday.
In his last rehab appearance Friday with Triple-A Sacramento, Bumgarner gave up four runs on seven hits, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. He tallied 62 pitches in just under four innings of work. The pitcher's presence drew a sold-out crowd in the state capital.
Bumgarner fans in the Bay Area are likely to follow suit and pack the house in San Jose. Those interested in catching Bumgarner in action can use the promotion code "MADBUM" to purchase two general admission tickets for $17 on the same day of each game, according to the San Jose Giants. There is also a $30 package that will get fans into both games and a contest on Saturday, which is a Bumgarner bobblehead giveaway day.
The three-time World Series champion, 2014 World Series MVP and four-time All-Star first appeared with the San Jose Giants back in 2009. He tallied a 3-1 record with a 1.48 ERA before heading to the big leagues.
Bumgarner is not expected to rejoin the San Francisco Giants until the beginning portion of the second half, which could either mean later in July or early August.
