San Francisco Parlor Creates $100 ‘Super Gold' Pizza for NFL Hunger Charity

Acclaimed San Francisco parlor Tony's Pizza Napoletana is making 50 gilded pizza pies to sell for charity this week.

Named in honor of the Super Bowl (but not officially affiliated), the limited edition Tony's "Super Gold Pizza" is available until they sell out, or through game day on Feb. 7.

The pizza's luxury ingredients include gold flakes, white truffles and 24-month aged Italian prosciutto, served on multigrain dough with local mushrooms from San Francisco's Far West Fungi and cheese from Petaluma's Bellwether Farms.

All proceeds from the $100 pie ($5,000) will be donated through the NFL's Kick Hunger Challenge to SF Marin Food Bank and St. Anthony's San Francisco's on behalf of the 49ers.

Another opportunity to donate to the NFL's hunger-fighting cause is to attend the organization's elaborate food and wine event Taste of the NFL at the Cow Palace on Feb. 6. This year's edition, the 25th annual affair, features a live performance by San Francisco act Third Eye Blind. Tickets start at $700.
