Sharks' Evander Kane Reveals Infant Daughter Has Died at 26 Weeks Old

SAN JOSE - Evander Kane delivered heartbreaking news Thursday.

The Sharks winger revealed in a social media post that his infant daughter, Eva, passed away over the weekend. She was 26 weeks old.

Kane has been out of the lineup since Feb. 26 when the Sharks played the Boston Bruins. He participated in practice on Thursday ahead of San Jose's game against the Florida Panthers but isn't expected to be in the lineup.

Sharks coach Peter DeBoer told the media Kane could potentially return to the lineup on Saturday when the Sharks host the Nashville Predators.
