Source: Former Kings Big Man Kosta Koufos Agrees With European Club

Kosta Koufos is heading to Europe.

The former Kings big man has reached an agreement with European power CSKA Moscow on a two-year, $6 million contract, NBC Sports California's James Ham confirmed Friday. The deal will include options to return to the NBA.

Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes was first to report news of the agreement.

Koufos has played 11 years in the NBA, averaging 5.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in his career. He spent the last four seasons in Sacramento, where the Ohio State product was a consistent role player. But he saw a reduced role last season, as the Kings gave minutes to young big men Marvin Bagley III and Harry Giles, forcing Koufos to the fringes of the rotation.

In a recent interview with James Ham, the 30-year-old veteran believes he still can contribute.

"I've been in the league for 11 years," Koufos said. "I've started a numerous amount of games, and when given time, I can put up numbers."

He'll get that opportunity in Russia, where he'll join a CSKA Moscow team that just won its eighth EuroLeague championship.

In four seasons with the Kings, Koufos averaged 6.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in 18.3 minutes.
