D'Angelo Russell will miss his third consecutive game Wednesday night in Houston because of a right ankle sprain.
But the absence shouldn't reach four straight.
Barring a setback, the Warriors guard likely will play Friday night in Minnesota, league sources told NBC Sports Bay Area's Monte Poole.
The 23-year-old must be champing at the bit to go up against Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who is a very close friend of Russell's.
The 2019 Eastern Conference All-Star averaged 16.3 points and 6.0 assists through Golden State's first four games, before breaking out for 30 points and eight assists in last Friday's loss to the Spurs (when he tweaked the ankle).
