Race Car Driver Dies in Crash at Pennsylvania Speedway

Sprint car driver James Campbell Jr. died Friday night in a crash at Williams Grove Speedway.

The Cumberland County (Pennsylvania) Coroner's Office says Campbell, of Bucks County, Pa., died after striking the wall on the half-mile banked clay oval.

The multi-car accident happened during warm-up laps.

The speedway canceled the rest of the program after the accident.

On Thursday night in Iowa, sprint car driver Kevin Swindell was airlifted to a hospital after his car flipped at the start of a heat race at the Knoxville Nationals. Swindell's car flipped, hit the outside wall and landed on its wheels at the World of Outlaws event.
