Jordan Poole did not shoot the ball well Wednesday night in Houston.
The Warriors rookie went 0-for-3 from inside the arc and 2-for-8 from 3-point range, and a couple attempts definitely were ill-advised.
"He's getting a lot up. He's taken some tough shots, but I'm not going to get on him too much about the shots," coach Steve Kerr told reporters after the loss. "I want guys to feel confident, that I believe in them. That's important.
"We watch tape every day, both individually and as a team. We point those things out on tape more than we do in games."
On the season, Poole is 8-for-41 on 2-pointers (19.5 percent) and 15-for-48 on 3-pointers (31.3 percent).
Despite the poor percentages, the 20-year-old won't be benched anytime soon.

"It's a blessing and a curse to be in the position Jordan is in," Kerr said. "He's going to play no matter what. We only have nine guys. It's a blessing on one hand.
"It's a curse in that he can be a little overwhelmed out there. He's not quite seeing the pictures yet on both ends. He has to be a step quicker. That will all come."
While there's definitely some truth to Kerr's explanation, Poole made some impressive plays offensively and defensively against the Rockets:
Great sequence from Jordan Poole:
-Defense = good helpside position in paint to prevent Harden from throwing lob to Capela (leads to a turnover)
-Offense = delivers throwback pass in pick and roll, Paschall gets driving dunk pic.twitter.com/pjLdVGGLrQ— Drew Shiller (@DrewShiller) November 7, 2019
Great defensive play here from Jordan Poole - who saved a layup + forced the turnover by leaving Tucker alone in the corner because somebody had to stop the ball pic.twitter.com/xM035vwdl0— Drew Shiller (@DrewShiller) November 7, 2019

"He's going through the normal trials and tribulations," Kerr said. "But we're throwing him into the fire because of all the injuries.
"There's some good there and some bad."
That is correct.
