It all started shortly before 8pm PT on Tuesday night with the following tweet:
I remember when Dwight Howard changing teams was a big deal. Now, not so much.— Tom Withers (@twithersAP) June 21, 2017
About two hours later, Dave McMenamin of ESPN responded:
There are maybe 8 bet-the-house franchise changing solo talents in the league: LeBron, Kawhi, Harden, Russ, Giannis, AD, KAT and KD https://t.co/UgN3Bx4G6N— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) June 21, 2017

You may notice that Steph Curry isn't listed among the eight players.
As "Warriors/NBA Twitter" took notice, so did Curry's sister Sydel:

On Wednesday morning, McMenamin tweeted:
These were smart retorts. I had it at 9 with him, cut it to 8, should probably be 9. Might be a few other guys, too. pic.twitter.com/MgvHXDP0fh— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) June 21, 2017
None of this would have happened if former Warriors assistant GM Travis Schlenk -- now the GM of the Hawks -- hadn't traded Dwight Howard to the Hornets earlier in the day.
Thanks, Travis...
Incredible talent. But collaborative talent.— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) June 21, 2017
Without extraordinary teammates, he would not be a top 8 player I choose to build a franchise around. But he is incredible.— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) June 21, 2017
