Before Riley Curry, there was Jodi Roberts.
But perhaps her stardom didn't take off as fast as Stephen Curry's 2-year-old daughter's because there was no Instagram in 1975.
Still, when Roberts was 6, her father was then-Warriors coach Joe Roberts. She got to be at the first NBA Finals championship parade, and she produced a black-and-white photo to prove it. She's standing on the far left of the photo holding flowers and sporting pigtails, a big "No. 1" across her white dress, and a grin splashed across her face.
"I grew up with the Warriors," she told NBC Bay Area on Friday morning, hours before the Warriors parade was set to kick off after the team beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. "That's why I got up at 3 in the morning because I wanted to witness 40 years later what I did as a child. Actually, when they won, I was crying. It brings back a lot of memories for me and my family."
"I'm the original Riley," Roberts said. "We are the original Riley Currys."
