Ticket Prices Skyrocket as Golden State Warriors Go for NBA Record

The Golden State Warriors, who will host the Memphis Grizzlies, are playing for a spot in NBA history.

The hottest and most expensive ticket in town will be at Oracle Arena Wednesday night.

The Golden State Warriors, who will host the Memphis Grizzlies, are playing for a spot in NBA history. A win on Wednesday would launch the Warriors over the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls for the best regular season in professional basketball history.

Nose bleed seats for Wednesday's game on Ticketmaster are going for more than $300. Courtside tickets are going for $17,000.

"It's the hottest ticket in town right now," said Kiernan Muellar, a season ticket holder.

Muellar last week sold his two tickets to the highly-anticipated game for only $500. He is now realizing he could have doubled or tripled that profit.

"I should have waited," Muellar said. "I didn't call the buyers' bluff."

While some fans rethink ticket negotiations, local businesses are gearing up.

Emani Dawan said the artists behind Warriors gear at Oaklandish are busy designing a new shirt in case the team reaches 73 wins on Wednesday.

Dawan said she is expecting huge sales leading up to tip off, and is hoping the momentum continues with another championship.

"It really reinforces the pride we have in our city," Dawan said.
