Timmy Too Much for Atlanta

Tim Lincecum says he finally feels like he is getting "into the zone".  Tuesday's performance certainly backed up that statement, as the reigning Cy Young Award winner dominated the Braves in a 4-0 victory.  Lincecum gave up just five hits in eight innings, while striking out eight batters.

The right hander says he got off to a slow start (by his standards) after battling bronchitis in Spring Training.  "It takes some people longer to get ready for a season," Lincecum said following the win. "Things are coming easier. Mechanics are easier. I'm not thinking too much out there."

That's real bad news for the rest of the National League, and obviously great news for the Giants.  With the win, Lincecum's record improved to 4-1 this season.

Aaron Rowand knocked in two runs with a double in the second inning.  Edgar Renteria followed Rowand with a two run single, to provide all of the offense Lincecum would need.

The Giants will try to sweep Atlanta Wednesday night.  Randy Johnson will be looking for win #299 on the mound.
