Klay Thompson Has Classic Response to Claim He, Steph Curry Bad Dunkers

Before Steph Curry and Klay Thompson turned the NBA on its head, kids used to grow up dreaming of soaring through the air and throwing down a vicious dunk ala Michael Jordan or LeBron James.

The Warriors sharpshooting duo can get up, but they aren't going to put on a dunk show like Vince Carter or a young Kobe Bryant. While Thompson and Curry are adept at torching the nets with their heat-seeking jump shots, one fan tried to jab Thompson in a recent Q&A about he and Curry being bad dunkers.

Thompson responded as expected.

"Hah! We're not good at dunking but we're great at shooting," Thompson said with a chuckle.

Now, what is this about Thompson being "bad" at dunking? Let's go to the tape.

Is he going to win any dunk contests? No. But he's not flunking dunk school either.

Of course, the fan probably still remembers Thompson's infamous missed dunk in China in 2016.

After tearing his left ACL on a dunk in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, the Warriors are probably more than OK if Thompson sticks to the long-range game from now on.

As for Curry and his dunking ability ... he's got some bounce.

As long as the jumper stays silky, Thompson and Curry won't be concerned about what their dunking ability.
