Kevin Durant will not play in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Last Saturday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo reported the following:
There's some optimism within members of the organization that a Game 3 arrival could be viable, but there's a stronger possibility that Game 4 is the most logical option, sources said.
Game 4 is on Friday night at Oracle Arena.
"Kevin's gonna get on the floor at the practice facility later today," Kerr told reporters. "He did not get on the floor here. He was here for our film session and for some treatment. But he'll be getting some work in this afternoon.

"Improving and we'll just keep updating you when we have something."
Durant has not played since he strained his right calf late in the third quarter of Golden State's Game 5 win over the Rockets in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
Over an eight-game stretch from Game 3 against the Clippers in the first round through Game 4 against Houston, KD averaged 38.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists while shooting 51.5 percent overall and 43.3 percent from deep.
