Damion Lee and Ky Bowman are on two-way contracts with the Warriors, which means they can only be up with Golden State for a maximum of 45 days.
The rest of their time is designated to be spent with the Santa Cruz Warriors.
But given the state of Golden State's roster, Lee and Bowman probably won't be spending any time in the G League in the near future.
Coach Steve Kerr needs those two in uniform, which means Golden State has to adjust plans sometimes.
"You just try to save the days as best you can. One of the reasons we didn't practice yesterday when we got here (to Houston) was to save a day," Kerr told reporters after Wednesday's shootaround. "But not a whole lot we can do.
"We can save a day here or there, but we need practice days badly. The last couple years with our two-way situations, we could very easily give the team a day off and we wouldn't miss a beat.

"But this team needs a lot of work and we need a lot of practice. So we can only do that so often."
Since the 45-day window (which includes only games and practices) opened on Oct. 28, Golden State has played five games and conducted a couple practices.
So after Wednesday night's contest in Houston, Lee and Bowman unofficially will have used up around eight or nine days.

Lee is averaging 14.6 points and 4.8 rebounds over the last five games, while shooting over 52 percent from the field and nearly 56 percent from deep.
Bowman started the last two games in place of the sidelined D'Angelo Russell, averaging 17.5 points, 6.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds in 38.0 minutes.
