Ever since June 19, 2016 the Warriors have been the butt of "3-1" jokes.
Golden State infamously blew a three-games-to-one lead in the 2016 NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers and social media -- still to this day, three years later -- has not let them hear the end of it.
After losing 105-92 to the Raptors in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night, the Warriors now find themselves on the opposite end of the equation, as they now face a three-games-to-one deficit.
Teams holding a three-games-to-one lead in the NBA Finals have won the championship 33 out of 34 times -- with the one loss, of course, being the 2016 Dubs.
Wouldn't it be poetic if the Warriors, on the brink of their dynasty falling apart, won three straight and reversed the "3-1" jokes on their head?
Steph Curry and Draymond Green certainly think so.

"It's not over," Curry told reporters after the game. "It's not a great feeling right now, obviously. But we've been on both sides of it."
"I've been on the wrong side of 3-1 before," Green said postgame. "Why not make our own history?"
Social media agreed.
if the Warriors come back from 3-1 everyone has to delete twitter. I'm sorry but thems the rules.— Mina Kimes (@minakimes) June 8, 2019
man, golden state going down 3-1 then KD returning and them winning the finals and ruining 3-1 jokes forever would be the most warriors thing that could possibly happen, isn't it— Tim Cato (@tim_cato) June 8, 2019
It would be pretty poetic if the Warriors overcame a 3-1 deficit to win their 3rd straight title... buuuuuuuuut that's being overly optimistic against a great Raptors team.— Grant Liffmann (@GrantLiffmann) June 8, 2019
The Warriors have to come back from 3-1 to complete the three-peat. It all started with 3-1 leads.

"can't show KD he's essential and needs to re-sign without falling behind 3-1 in the Finals, rushing him back and winning three straight games" #LIGHTYEARS pic.twitter.com/JIJrp5D4eq— Dan Favale (@danfavale) June 8, 2019
There's still a possibility that Kevin Durant returns for Game 5 on Monday in Toronto, which would be a huge boost for the Warriors. Regardless of KD's status, Golden State will need to win three straight games -- including two on the road -- to keep their dynasty alive.
But if anyone knows the perils holding a three-games-to-one lead, it's the Warriors. We'll see if they can reverse history and end those "3-1 jokes" once and for all.
