Warriors Vs. Bulls Watch Guide: Lineups, Injuries and Player Usage

OAKLAND -- There aren't many names left above Stephen Curry's on the NBA's all-time career 3-point list. After the Warriors host the Chicago Bulls at Oracle Arena Friday night, there's likely to be one fewer.

Curry enters Friday's game having splashed 2,880 3-pointers through the first nine-plus seasons of his career, putting him two behind Jason Terry for third-most all-time.

As it turns out, Curry thought he already passed Terry:

"I got the numbers mixed up in Sacramento and thought that I had caught Jason [Terry] and was in the top three with Reggie [Miller] and Ray [Allen]," Curry admitted following shootaround on Friday. "I wanted to keep the game ball from that game just because growing up, those two guys were the metric for 3-point shooting and I paid so close attention to them.

"So for me to be close to -- right there with my name next to those two guys in terms of 3-point shooting, I wanted to kind of remember that moment, even though it didn't happen yet."

'Yet' being the operative word. Curry has made at least two 3-pointers in every game since he returned from an 11-game absence on Dec. 1, and the Warriors converted a season-high 24 treys against Chicago in their only other meeting this season, including an NBA-record 17 in the first half.

Curry mentioned that the Warriors (27-14) are focused on putting a win streak together, and they can notch their third consecutive victory against a Bulls (10-31) team that enters Friday's game having lost five in a row.

ROTATION OUTLOOK

Warriors: Livingston is expected to return from a one-game absence, which will push Quinn Cook down the depth chart. However, if the Warriors can build a large enough cushion, there should be plenty of minutes to go around for all.

Klay Thompson converted an NBA-record 14 3-pointers in the Warriors' 149-124 victory over the Bulls back on Oct. 29. After a brutal stretch in December, Thompson has rediscovered his shooting touch as of late, having shot 20-of-39 (51.3 percent) from beyond the arc over his last five games.

Just like in their blowout victory over the Knicks, the ideal scenario for the Warriors is to build a big lead through three quarters and turn it over to the bench in the fourth, which is conceivable given Chicago's troubles.

Bulls: LaVine is listed as probable, and Chicago will likely need him to have any chance. He leads the Bulls with an average of 23.5 points per game (15th in the NBA) and will start alongside Dunn in the backcourt. G Ryan Arcidiacano and G Justin Holiday will see an uptick in minutes at the backup spots due to Valentine's absence.

F Bobby Portis has played in the last two games after missing the previous seven with a sprained right ankle. He'll provide depth behind Markkanen, or they could play together if the Bulls desire to stretch the floor a bit more.

F Jabari Parker played 14 minutes in an overtime loss to the Pacers on Jan. 3, his first action since Dec. 13. He has received several DNP-Coaches Decisions, and does not appear to be in the Bulls' future plans.
