Connor Joe's slump is busted.
After an 0-for-13 start to his MLB career, the Giants outfielder singled to left as a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the fifth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Joe's hit came in a big spot. The Giants trailed 3-2 entering the inning, but the first start of his career kickstarted a Giants rally.
His single moved Joe Panik over to second, and Steven Duggar drove both players in with an RBI double. In the very next at-bat, Brandon Belt stayed red-hot and pulled an opposite-field homer to give San Francisco a 6-3 lead headed into the sixth inning.
Joe was a popular figure in the Giants' clubhouse during his slump, and surely feels much less weight on his shoulders with his first big league hit out of the way.
