The A's took the series from the Rays on Wednesday with a 6-2 win, and have a day off before heading back to Oakland. The team will have an off day before hosting a 10-game homestand.
And speaking of home, it could look to be better accommodations at the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum in the near future for the team -- that is, when the Raiders leave.
Ahhh yes, the A's still have to share the field with the local pro football team, but with the Silver and Black heading to Sin City at the start of the 2020 season, Bob Melvin sees it as an opportunity to feel more comfortable. But this isn't about the new stadium the A's are taking strides to make happen, the skipper is thinking about the present.
"Maybe if the Raiders end up moving (to Las Vegas) after this year, then we can expand a little bit in our clubhouse to create some more space and better space inside,'' Melvin told 'The Mercury News' before Wednesday's first pitch. "It is what it is. I think if you're keeping yourself bothered with it, then it's probably not the right way to go. That's what my rhetoric is.''

And as far as Howard Terminal is concerned, he's still looking forward to what possibly could be -- a subject he's been confident in since the beginning.
"We've been dealing with it a long time,'' Melvin said. "It looks as if we're headed in the right direction. I think that's still 2023 at the earliest, so our guys have to understand where we are is where we are."
