Will Draymond Recruit, Reach Out to Iguodala? ‘Ain't No Need…'

Andre Iguodala will officially become a free agent on Friday night at 9pm PT.

He's one of 10 members of the Warriors' championship squad that will hit the open market.

Will Draymond reach out to Iguodala or any of the other guys?

"We all talk every day," Draymond answered while smiling. "Ain't no need to reach out ... we all talk every single day...

"Everyone has to make their own personal decision. And I respect whatever decision guys make. We want to keep this thing together as long as we can and win as much as we can. But guy's decisions are based on different things.

"Some people, it's money. I grew up knowing you don't count another man's pockets. I'm not going to say, ‘Hey, Andre, somebody's offering you more money, but don't take that money.' He's a grown man. He's going to make the decision he wants to make. Obviously he knows how bad we want him here. I love playing with him. But I've never been one to count someone's pockets and I won't start now."

On Wednesday afternoon, Draymond spoke to the media after his Defensive Player of the Year press conference.

One topic of discussion was the blockbuster trade that sent Chris Paul to the Rockets.

James Harden and Paul -- two of the five best point guards in the league -- are now on the same team.

"Two great players. It's not really my job to dissect their trade or figure out how it works. That's on them to figure out how it works, but you definitely got two great players, two great competitors."

Harden finished runner-up for MVP this season (and in 2015), while Paul is a nine-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA First-Team performer.

When The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on Wednesday morning, NBA Twitter was shocked.

"I was surprised by it. I didn't really see that coming," Draymond added. "I also wasn't expecting him (Paul) to opt in either."

It was widely assumed that Paul would opt out and become a free agent.

Now, he won't hit the open market until next summer.
