Wow! A's Thriller

Down to their final out and trailing by one in the ninth,  A's pinch-hitter Nomar Garciaparra came through with a game tying single off  of Angels closer Brian Fuentes.  That opened the door for Mark Ellis who delivered the game winning run with an infield single that scored Kurt Suzuki.  Matt Holliday capped the ninth inning rally with an another rbi single.

Oakland started the eighth inning trailing 4-0, but would score three runs in each of the last two frames to rally past the Angels 6-4 in game three of a four game series.  Holliday returned from an undisclosed illness and entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the eighth.

Rookie Reliever Andrew Bailey picked up his first career win after pitching a scoreless eighth inning and closer Brad Ziegler earned his second save with a flawless ninth.  Rookie Brett Anderson will make his major league debut on Thursday facing LA starter Jered Weaver.
