Apple May Allow for Deletion of Pre-Loaded iPhone Apps, Tim Cook Says

With all the fancy new features coming with the latest iPhones, there's a seemingly simple user request that hasn't yet been met — not yet, anyway.

Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that the company is looking into ways to allow the deletion of certain apps that come loaded onto iPhones. The inability to delete anything is a common complaint, but it may not be an easy fix.

“This is a more complex issue than it first appears,” Cook told BuzzFeed. “There are some apps that are linked to something else on the iPhone. If they were to be removed they might cause issues elsewhere on the phone. There are other apps that aren’t like that. So over time, I think with the ones that aren’t like that, we’ll figure out a way [for you to remove them]."

Cook did not provide a timeline for introducing such a feature.
