Apple to Investigate Reports of Woman Killed by iPhone

Report of iPhone electrocution to be investigated.

The death of a woman who was electrocuted when she answered a call on her iPhone 5 will be investigated by Apple, according to reports.

A 23-year old Chinese woman was killed when she was electrocuted while answering a phone call on her device, which was charging at the time, according to Reuters.

Apple issued condolences but refused to comment further. It is not clear if the death was an isolated incident.

Ma Ailun, 23, was a flight attendant with China Southern Airlines and a resident of Xinjiang province in the western part of the country.

A message from her sister reporting the circumstances of her death went viral in China, according to Xinhua, the state-run media agency.
