Billionaire Vinod Khosla Blames Tech for Inequality

Tech billionaire Vinod Khosla knows it's tough out there, but he also knows that tech is behind these rough times.

The Sun Microsystems cofounder says tech is the "major cause of [income] disparity," the San Francisco Chronicle reported. And far from floating all boats, the rising tide of "technology will keep increasing the gap," he told the newspaper.

Why is this? Simple: tech allows labor to be removed from wealth creation, Khosla said, allowing the right idea to build wealth far beyond what working people could ever earn.

Nobody making $20 to $25 an hour can find a house "anywhere between San Francisco and San Jose," noted Khosla, who told the newspaper that the only solution will be to tax people like himself more.

As in 50 percent more, he said.
