Facebook's No (Revenue) Google

Granted, we're talking huge amounts of money here, but according to Silicon Alley Insider, Facebook's $2 billion in revenue this year is not even close to what Google did back in the day.

Consider that Google generated $3.2 billion in revenue by its sixth year of existence.

Of course, online advertising is, by definition, built to make money -- especially when compared to a social networking site originally built to meet chicks

Facebook, which really didn't chase the dough early on, is valued at $56 billion, according to investors. Again, not Google-worthy money, but still an enormous amount for Mark Zuckerberg's growing empire and influence.
