Klout Lands Another $8.5M

Klout now has more capital, according to VentureBeat.

Kleiner Perkins has sunk $8.5M into the service that measures who is more influential, socially, on the web. In a nutshell: "Klout ranks a user based on how much influence they have on a particular site so they know how they stack up against all other users."

The SF-based company says it will use the new dough to ingest more social sites, beyond their relationships with LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

The company already had $1.5M in angel funding, so the number is rising -- as their traffic and, frankly their influence, rise, too.
