NBC Sites Hacked, Including SNL

In today's hacking news, the National Broadcasting Company, better known as NBC, fell prey to some V for Vendetta-loving hackers. Included in the hacked pages was Saturday Night Live's home page. Most of the hacked pages are back up, though some pages remain dead and/or nonfunctional.

The hacker goes by the name "Pyknic," which was clear because s/he replaced the pages with red text that displayed his/her name and the following lines from a children's poem about Guy Fawkes and his failed plot to blow up the U.K. Parliament (celebrated on Nov. 5 and all referenced in the film V for Vendetta).

"Remember, remember the fifth of November. The gunpowder, treason and plot. I know no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot."

No motive is clear, and the group Anonymous (who often uses a stylized image of Guy Fawkes as a symbol) has not taken credit for the attacks.

Pyknic claimed that user info and passwords have been exposed, but this is not confirmed either.
