Twitter Gets the Royal Treatment in London

Twitter is determined to make money and the microblogging site will go to the old empire if it has to.

The San Francisco-based social network is planning to open its first international office. The British newspaper The Telegraph is reporting that Twitter executives were in London scouting potential sites for a new home.

And the brains behind the tweets were welcomed with British royalty. Actually not literal loyalty. 

But British Prime Minister David Cameron and London's Mayor Boris Johnson met with former White House staffer Katie Jacobs Stanton and current head of international strategy for Twitter.

The two pressed Stanton to select London for the head of Twitter's European operations.
