iPhone 5 (Yes, Five) Orders Up to 10M

Keeping their aspirational products in the pipeline, Apple has ordered 10 million units of the iPhone 5, according to electronista.com.

Parts maker Pegatron said it was slated to produce at least 10-12 million CDMA iPhone 4 units, but has already picked up iPhone 5 orders on a massive scale. Production is reported to begin in May.

Pegatron is only one of Apple's supplies, with Foxconn being another. Both are based in China. If Foxconn gets a similar order, then the huge supply will feed the anticipated needs of Verizon's iPhone data plans.

It also means that workers will not get the Lunar New Year off, but they will get triple their normal wages for producing the new phones.
