This coffee table with a base that looks like a giant PlayStation controller, was built by an Australian student called Mark for his high school industrial technology class project.
You've got to admit that it looks kind of cool, and is pretty accurate right down to the shape and positions of the buttons. The whole project took about 20 weeks to complete during off hours, and is made from plywood, MDF and veneer.
I hope Mark gets full marks, but I worry about the kid. Let's just hope he doesn't put this in his living room, as there are few things that would scare off any potential girlfriends faster than this. Perhaps he should check with that other guy who built a PlayStation coffee table to see how he's making out. Who knows, perhaps he found an equally geeky girlfriend?
