The iPad-Controlled Keg Knows How Much You've Been Drinking

What do you get when you have a group of beer-loving engineers with too much time on their hands? An iPad-controlled kegorator, that's what.

Yes, the KegMate is a passion project by a group of engineers at Yelp, and it actually looks pretty sweet. It's a standard-looking kegorator, but on top is an iPad. That iPad tells you what beer is available and what the temperature is. With a swipe of an RFID-embedded card, it'll be able to tell who you are and track how much beer you're drinking. You can also see who's been drinking the most, which is handy for finding the functional alcoholics in your group of friends. There's even a little widget that lets you check on your precious beer from afar.

Alas, this is just a fun project that these guys put together, not something you can buy. But if you really want one, I'm sure you could pay another group of beer-loving geeks enough to build you something similar.
