Houston McDonald's “McDress Code” Discourages Saggy Pants

A Houston McDonald's is getting a lot of attention for its new "McDress Code" that discourages people wearing sagging pants from entering the restaurant.

A sign posted on the door of the location reads: "Pull up your pants or don't come in."

The sign continues, reading "Try to have some decency and respect for others. No one wants to see your underwear."

Even though the sign is up, some customers were still seen inside the restaurant sporting droopy drawers.

"Nobody wants to see your undergarment," one customer said. "That's what I think. Honestly, my thing is, they're not wrong."

Other customers didn't seem bothered by the low pants.

"I guess having your pants too low is in bad taste, but it's a matter of choice," another customer said. "If you want to wear your pants that way, so be it."

According to store managers, the individual restaurants posting the signs got permission from the McDonald's corporate office before putting up the dress code recommendations.

There is one exception, however -- the sign says children under 3 years of age are exempt.

The battle over britches is familiar to Dallas residents. Councilman Dwaine Caraway has long pushed for a "pull 'em up" campaign that he claims are disrespectful to women.
