Jailbird Arrested for Stealing from Prison

Collared for wearing stolen prison shirt

They say there's one born every minute, and apparently there's one let out of prison every minute, too.

A California man, riding a chrome 20" bicycle, was arrested last week after cops spotted him wearing a jail-issued t-shirt with the word "PRISONER" on the back, thesmokinggun.com reported.

Israel Ramirez, 20, who had been released the day before from the Fresno County Jail, told the cops that he had smuggled the shirt out of the lock-up because he "wanted to take one home because it looked 'cool,' " according to a Frenso County Sheriff's Department report.

Ramirez had been in the joint on marijuana and child abuse charges. He was taken back to jail for possession of stolen property.
