FOLSOM, Calif. -- A man who had his car stolen was vindicated Monday after he saw an alleged burglar driving the vehicle.
But on Monday morning at about 9:13 a.m., the man said he saw the car behind him as he drove along Greenback Lane.
The man told Folsom police that he lost sight of the car after crossing the Rainbow Bridge, but then later saw it in a Wal-Mart parking lot on Riley Street.
Officers and a plain-clothes detective waited nearby as James William Brannen, 43, got into the car and started to drive away.
Police said they stopped Brannen and found him in possession of multiple shaved keys.
Brannen, who was recently released from Duel Vocational Institute in Tracy, was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail, police said.
He is being held without bail for the parole violation and $65,000 bail for the other charges.
