NorCal Father Shoots Son During Hunting Trip

Weekend Trip Ends in Pain

A Marysville man shot his teenage son in the hip during a weekend hunting accident in Northern California.

Tehama County Sheriff Clay Parker said 16-year-old Justin McFarlane was hunting with his father on Sunday at Morgan Summit in Mineral, about 130 miles north of Sacramento.

The father, 50-year-old Daniel McFarlane, was unloading a rifle when it fired. His son was sitting in the pickup truck when he was struck.
